This past weekend Jeff (the owner of continuum) served up brunch.
The menu:
Super thick slices of challah french toast served w/ organic orange slices , banana, strawberries & blueberries topped w/ hot organic maple syrup & powdered sugar.
Homemade from scratch (in front of you) Jeff made biscuits and mushroom gravy or if you wanted, jam.
Yellow corn grits w/ butter & black pepper
Organic red potato rosemary home fries w/ green peppers & onions.
Also oatmeal w/ raisins, walnuts & brown sugar which is always on their menu.
The menu may have been loaded with carbs, but it was yummy & Jeff wanted to start off the 1st brunch southern style since he is from North Carolina. He wanted to cook up something that reminded him of growing up down south. Special surprise guest chef Isabel Dawson came in Sat. morning & jumped behind the counter, helping out while singing a capella. They had so much fun, she returned on Sunday and helped out again. This weekend the menu will be different. Jeff said that he wanted to use inspiration from his partner/girlfriend Amanda's culture. Something that that will be nostalgic for her, maybe even use some old family recipes.
Not sure what to expect this weekend but I'm pretty sure it will be tasty.
